weigh in and getting back on track

So if you read my post yesterday you know I've been struggling the past few days. Yesterday I didn't go over points, I had to go to bed at 8pm so that I wouldn't keep eating. I was tired though and fell asleep pretty quickly.

It paid off because when I weighed in today I had maintained! Still 159lbs! Fine by me, I had thought that I was going to gain and gain big!

My plan this week is to get back on track. Take each day at a time, and even each meal at a time. I need to go back to the basics. I plan on loading up on fruits and veggies, drinking a ton of water, and exercising!

I hope that this will help me get off this plateau I'm on. Come back next Wednesday to find out if I got back on track and hopefully lost some weight!

to overeat or not to overeat?

So this weekend we had KBeaner's birthday party! So much fun, I am working on a post about it, I'll have it up later this week. I made cupcakes for the party. I struggled so much not to eat one, or have a lick of frosting... I love frosting, if I had had a lick I'm pretty sure then I would have had a spoonful and then two spoonfuls and so on.

Do you ever just feel like saying "screw it" when it comes to your diet? This time doing weight watchers, I'm really trying to make it a lifestyle change, I haven't "cheated" since starting it in May 2012, but oh man recently I just want to throw in the towel for a day or two. I know that's not good since I don't want to ruin all the hard work I have put in already. I know that one day or one meal of overeating wouldn't ruin it all, but I'm not sure if I could stop if I started.

I just sometimes feel like "man, it'd be awesome to just eat whatever I wanted, however much I wanted, straight from the container!" I almost always measure things out first, and if I don't, I am counting the foods as I go.

I'm not sure if it is the weather (super snowy and cold), if I was triggered by seeing everyone eat cupcakes, or its because I'm in a plateau... I just know I am struggling this week. I am taking it one meal at a time. I don't have any weekly points left (thank goodness they start over tomorrow), I am going to try very hard to make great food choices today so I don't go into negative points. I'm feeling like I might gain weight tomorrow at weigh in, but I won't be surprised or upset, I was the one that ate all my extra points and did not work out. (BTW my back hasn't been hurting so I am working out today, probably just Zumba)

Sorry for this rambling post, I just needed to get it all out. I'll let you all know how I did with eating and my weigh in tomorrow. Wish me luck!

maintaining

Hey everyone, hope your week is going well so far!

I maintained my weight again this week, I wish I had lost some weight but I'm happy I didn't gain.

I'm starting to wonder if I've hit a plateau? I haven't really had a plateau since starting Weight Watchers this May. So maybe I'm having one now? I guess time will tell!

I'm looking forward to warm weather, my thought is, is that once the snow melts I'm going to start running...well attempt to run!  Warm weather seems to be millions of days away though, its -4 here today. Ew! It's way too cold out to go out and play so I'm going to find some fun and different things for KBeaner to do inside. I'll post about them soon!

Hope you all stay warm today!!

Ballerina Invitation Tutorial

My little ballerina is turning 3 this month!! Since she is in love with dance class and everything pink and girly I figured a Ballerina Theme was the perfect theme for her party!

I made my own invitations, I couldn't find anything that I liked enough to spend a lot of money on. Yeah I'm cheap and I have a lot of extra time when KBeaner goes to bed.

I started with finding a free template online that divides a piece of paper into 4 equal parts.

Then I scoured Pinterest for cute wording for the invitation. This is what I chose (the font I used is Segoe Script).
Come Dance and Twirl with the Birthday Girl!

Here is what the back looks like...

Now for the How to...

As I said earlier I downloaded a template so I could print 4 invites on one piece of paper, I downloaded the template for free here. I then printed the invitations and cut them out.
For the leotard I first folded a scrap piece of paper in half, and drew half of a leotard and cut it out. It took a couple of tries to get exactly what I wanted.
Now trace your leotard on the paper that you'd like to use for it. If you are using a patterned paper I suggest tracing on the back side so you don't have to worry about pencil marks. (I forgot to take pictures while cutting out the leotards when I first made the invitations so these are different ones, which is why the leotard looks different. In case you were wondering.)

Glue your paper leotard to the back of your invitation, I used a plain old glue stick.

Next is the tutu  part! I didn't take pictures of the tulle, it tends to not show up on camera that well. So you'll have to use your imagination..

I used a roll of tulle that is 6 inches wide, I cut the tulle into rectangles, each rectangle was about 7 inches long and 6 inches wide. Then I folded the tulle into quarters length wise, so you get a 7 inches long and about 1.5 inches wide rectangle. I hope that makes sense!

Then I did a basic stitch across the long part of the rectangle to make the tulle into a ruffle. I played around with how tightly I pulled the thread until I had the ruffle looking like a tutu, then I secured it in place.

Once you have your tutu how you like it, get out your hot glue gun and glue it onto the leotard.

And you should get something like this.

If you make some of these please share your pics with me!

Summer yet?

Its weigh in day and I maintained...still in the 150s!! woop woop!!

Anyways I'm super pumped for summer this year, not just because I can't wait for warm weather and the snow to be gone, but because I can wear pretty and cute summer dresses!! I used to wear pretty summer dresses before but I always felt so self conscious and I never felt that I looked pretty in them. Well this summer it will be different! Yesterday I tried on some of my summer dresses, then I noticed this dress that I have had in my closet for so long. It was from my friend/roommate after college, she had bought it, but it was too big for her and decided to give it to me since I was starting to lose weight (Thanks Steph for believing in me!). That was in 2008, I haven't fit into it until now.

So here is a new pic of me wearing my SIZE 9 dress!!! Yes size 9!!!!

Can you tell I'm super excited? So now I have a pretty dress to wear, now I just need it to get warm out! I also need to get a new "skinny" outfit to hang in my closet to push me to work harder.

Do you have any clothes that you keep holding on to, just in case you can fit into them again? Let me know in the comments below...I don't think I'm the only one! Hopefully most of you will say "I used to do that but now I fit into it!" :)

In the 150's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's weigh in day!! If you couldn't tell  by this post's title... I now weigh 159lbs! I lost 2 lbs this week.

I was in shock this morning when I looked at the scale, I actually didn't believe it so I weighed myself 3 times! Each time to my surprise I was 159lbs!

Some of you know I've been dealing with sciatic nerve pain, this week I decided not to do any workouts. I did however up my intake of water, fruits and vegetables this past week. And I tracked all of the food I ate.

How are all of you doing in this new year? I hope very well and that you find motivation to keep at it each day. Leave me some comments :)

French Toast Style Oatmeal

I've been wanting french toast, but I've been lazy, and its kind of high in points.

So the fiance and I figured out how to make oatmeal taste like french toast! YUM!!

Ingredients
1/2 cup Old Fashioned Oats
1 cup water
1 tsp light brown sugar
1 TBSP Sugar Free Maple Syrup (you could use the real deal but you'll have to adjust the points)
1/4 tsp cinnamon
dash of nutmeg
1 TBSP Splenda (optional)

Cook your oatmeal as directed, once done add the sugar free syrup, cinnamon, nutmeg, light brown sugar and splenda. Stir well and enjoy for only 4 points!

I added strawberries to mine, you could add your favorite berry or fruit. It would be really good with bananas and maybe some almonds... it would taste like french toast made with banana bread, mmm! Now I need to add almonds to my grocery list.

It's weigh in day

It's weigh in day again... I'm back down to 161 lbs!! I lost the 3 lbs I gained last week.

I know it sounds odd but I am thankful for the gain I had last week. It gave me a kick in the butt, made me realize that I cant just do weight watchers half hearted, I have to be all in. Just one week of not tracking as well as I normally do, I gained 3 lbs, but just one week of tracking everything and making better choices and I lost those 3 lbs I had gained.

I indulged a lot this week, I had lots of pizza, I had mac and cheese, and of course a lot of those Skinny Cinnamon Rolls. Yes, I had not so healthy food but I ate them in moderation, and I made them into healthier foods by making little changes to the ingredients. The "healthified" food tastes just as good as the normal versions. Honestly I think they taste better, over Christmas I had real delivery pizza, yes it tasted amazing but I think my pizza tastes just as amazing but doesn't give me a horrible stomachache like the delivery pizza did.

What are some foods you like to make healthier versions of? Are there any foods you'd like me to try to make healthier and blog about? Let me know!
